The gates to Quel’Thalas have reopened! World of Warcraft: Midnight is officially live as of today, March 2, 2026. As the second chapter in the Worldsoul Saga, this expansion takes us back to the ancestral home of the High Elves to fight off a massive Void invasion.
Whether you’re a veteran raider or a returning player, here is everything you need to know to dive into the Midnight hour.
1. The Quel’Thalas Revamp
Forget the loading screens of 2007. The entire zones of Eversong Woods and Ghostlands have been completely rebuilt with modern assets, flying-mount compatibility, and dynamic lighting. The Sunwell has never looked more beautiful—or more threatened.
2. New Feature: Hero Talents Expanded
Midnight introduces the next tier of Hero Talents. These sub-classes allow you to further specialize your character.
Void-Weaver (Priest/Mage): Harness the very shadows you are fighting.
Sun-Guardian (Paladin/Warrior): Use the light of the Sunwell to protect your allies.
3. Allied Race: The Ethereals?
While not available at hour one, the campaign hints heavily that the Ethereals will become a playable Allied Race midway through the patch cycle. Keep an eye on your reputation with the Nexus-Stalkers!
4. How to Start the Questline
To begin your journey, head to your capital city (Orgrimmar or Stormwind) and look for the "A Call to the Sun" quest pop-up. You’ll be whisked away to a cinematic introduction featuring Alleria Windrunner and Xal'atath.
