The 11th expansion for World of Warcraft, Midnight, officially launched on March 2, 2026, taking us back to the sun-drenched lands of Quel'Thalas. While the battle against the Void invasion is epic, the ShoortMedia community is talking about one thing: The Great Hall (Player Housing).
After two decades of waiting, Blizzard has finally given players a place to call home. But does it live up to the hype?
More Than Just a Garrison
Unlike the Warlords of Draenor garrisons, the new housing system is purely cosmetic and social. You can invite your guildmates over, display your rarest raid trophies, and even host "dueling tournaments" in your backyard.
The Customization Depth
Biomes: You can choose to place your house in the Eversong Woods, the Void-scarred remains of the Sunwell, or even the floating city of Dalaran (Restored).
Professions Matter: For the first time in years, Blacksmithing and Woodworking are profitable again as players rush to craft unique furniture sets.
The "Prey" System: A new open-world mechanic where Void-stalkers can "siege" certain housing districts, requiring community defense events to protect your neighborhood.
Is it a "Content Drought" Fix?
Many veteran players at ShoortMedia are worried that Housing might take development time away from Raids and Dungeons. However, with the Worldsoul Saga in full swing, Blizzard seems to have scaled their team to handle both.
The ShoortMedia Poll: Which zone are you picking for your first house? Are you going for the classic Elf aesthetic or something more "Void-inspired"?
