Nintendo just pulled a classic "one more thing" during today's Indie World Showcase (March 3, 2026). While we expected release dates, we didn't expect a full-blown shadow drop and our best look yet at how indies will run on the Nintendo Switch 2.
1. Shadow Drop: Minishoot' Adventures is Out NOW!
The standout star of the show was Minishoot' Adventures. This unique mashup of a twin-stick shooter and a Zelda-style adventure is available on the eShop starting today.
- The Twist: You pilot a tiny ship through a handcrafted world, unlocking powers to reach new areas.
- Switch 2 Enhanced: If you're playing on the new hardware, the game features a native "Mouse Mode" for ultra-precise aiming.
2. Switch 2 Indie Power: Blue Prince & Moonlighter 2
Nintendo confirmed that the highly anticipated Blue Prince will be a launch-window title for the Switch 2, supporting full 4K docked resolution. We also got a first look at Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault, which uses the Switch 2's extra RAM to generate massive, persistent dungeons that don't require loading screens between floors.
3. Coming Soon: Slay the Spire 2 & Planet of Lana 2
The showcase wrapped up with a double-header of sequels:
- Slay the Spire 2: Confirmed for Early Access this month with an all-new Co-op mode.
- Planet of Lana 2: Arriving March 5th, featuring stunning "hand-painted" 4K visuals on the Switch 2.
Community Buzz: Is the Switch 2's power overkill for indie games, or is this the "Retina Display" moment for pixel art?
